TREASURE HUNT - 2

[A message by PASTOR IDOWU ILUYOMADE at Digging for Gold Service on Tuesday, January 23, 2018]

Reference Scriptures:

JOHN 3:1 – “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.”

PSALM 91:8 - “Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.”

To hunt is to search in order to capture. The hunter is motivated to go after the treasure simply because the treasure always adds value. God hunted us down because He saw potentials in us. Most treasures are hidden. You need to dig to search for it, e.g. minerals like gold, diamond, copper, zinc, oil, etc. Sometimes, treasures are not always evident and if they are not obvious, they can easily be missed. Can you ever imagine that after polishing rock looking objects, they are turned into diamonds used to make expensive jewelry that women use to adorn themselves?

Nigeria is endowed with opportunities, it is a land flowing with milk and honey; may God open your eyes and lead you to where those opportunities are in Jesus Name. Isaiah 45:3 says “I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.” All around us there are treasures, riches, opportunities, all you need is for God to open your eyes to the treasure, and with just a little bit of effort and the direction of the Holy Spirit, they can be yours. Daniel 2:28 says there’s a God in Heaven who reveals secrets. I pray that God will reveal the solution to your problem to you in Jesus Name. Isaiah 48:6 says God wants to show us new things, even hidden things that we don’t know. He’s the God that can declare the end result from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10 [AMP]).

Because we have established that most treasures are hidden, we need to develop our hunting skills especially those that want to get married this year. Last year, we celebrated 24 marriages in this church and there were many other marriages celebrated elsewhere; and God has promised us that there will be many more this year. Thus, you need to refine your hunting skills. Paul in 1 Corinthians 9:20-22 displayed diverse hunting skills adaptable to varying situations. Hunters must display various skills gained from preparation, studying, inspiration and experience. You need to prepare and plan, it can happen suddenly.

The similarity between the hunter and the treasure is that both of them can be in the rough – They can both be hidden e.g. the diamond in the rough, the hunter in the rough, and treasure in the rough all need polishing. Sometimes, looks are deceptive, don’t shut down a man. Your prince may be hidden in a hunter’s dress. The gentry in England hunt, e.g. when Prince Charles is hunting for foxes, he dresses like a hunter in the rough. Who would have ever thought that a slave and prisoner, Joseph could become a Prime Minister?

These are the end times, there’s no marriage in Heaven, and this should tell you that you have an opportunity to marry (John 9:4). Ecclesiates11:4-6 [AMP] says don’t wait for perfect conditions; He that observes the wind can never sow. Come together and build a life together. The Bible says “two are better than one.”

The reason Christ came is to die and redeem sinners from going to hell. We were all born as sinners that is why we are all required to be born-again. You are the treasure He’s been looking for, He wants to polish you and turn you into a gem so that you can add value to your own life, and the kingdom and the world at large. God has a fantastic package for you, Jesus is inviting you to surrender Your life to Him. If you are willing to repent and surrender your life to Jesus Christ, then pray this prayer right now: LORD Jesus, I come to You right now, I know I am a sinner, please forgive my sins. With my mouth, I confess that Jesus, from today, I accept You as the LORD of my life; fill me with Your Holy Spirit, change my heart from a disobedient heart to a heart that will obey You. Please write my name in the Book of Life, make me brand new, and help me to obey You in Jesus Mighty Name.
