Keys To Fulfilling Purpose In Destiny

Excerpts of Pastor Emeka Okide's message at the Sunshine Service on Sunday, January 14, 2018

Inanimate things and animals have a purpose, but do not have a destiny. Whosoever has the breathe of God in him, has a purpose and a destiny (Genesis 2:7). Therefore, if you only have a purpose but you do not have a destiny, you are like someone who is just living for no reason. When God created everyone, He wanted all to be conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. This is His eternal purpose for us, He doesn't want anyone to die in sin.

Destiny demands fulfillment while purpose requires manifestation or expression. Life is not about purpose alone, as destiny is essential in fulfilling what you were created for. You must view life from a sense of destiny by the fulfillment of the eternal purpose of God for your life. Note that you came from God and you will return back to Him. God has an intention for creating you; you need to find out what it is, and not seek your own personal wish which most times, is contrary to God's plan for you. You must also note that your eternal purpose is rooted in Christ. You can't know and fulfill your purpose without a revelation of Christ's purpose for you, because it is in Him you live, move and have your being; and without Him, you can do nothing of eternal value. You might be self-driven with your own expectations, but without keying into the true eternal purpose of God for your life, you can never be truly fulfilled. You must know what God had in mind when He created you (Ephesians 1:17).

The keys to fulfilling purpose in destiny are:

1. To know the will of God and walk in it. Everyone needs to know Jesus Christ as LORD and personal Saviour because everyone's purpose is embedded in Him.

2. You need to fulfil God's general plan for your life, walk after Jesus; looking unto Him, the author and finisher of our faith. You need to walk in God's Word, because you won't go far if you don't walk after the leading of the Holy Spirit. Don't say that you don't know your calling or that you have not been called into the five-fold ministry (apostle, prophet, pastor, evangelist, and teacher). You have been called unto good works, so that men will see it and glorify your Father in Heaven (Ephesians 2:10).

3. To give glory to God's Holy Name. This should be revealed to you by the Holy Spirit as you seek God's face in your quiet time.

Principles To Fulfilling Purpose In Destiny

1. The LORD is active in you to do His will and good pleasure. We see in Scripture that God was with Joseph all through his life. Your plans can change but God can never change, and hence, He will ensure that He does what He pleases in your life.

2. Fulfilling destiny is a process which you have to go through. God is not committed to your ability, He is committed to your destiny, and He will see you through the process of fulfilling destiny.

3. Destiny requires that you let go of the past. Even though Joseph was maltreated by his brothers, he did not take revenge.

4. Always acknowledge the LORD in all your ways as you fulfill destiny. Have an unbroken relationship with the LORD.

5. Destiny should be a way of life. When you know your destiny, it makes it easy for you to work towards fulfilling it.

In conclusion, do you feel you are on the path to fulfilling purpose in destiny but you have not given your life to Jesus Christ? Or are you burdened and heavy laden? Come to Jesus Christ today, accept Him as your personal LORD and Saviour and He will help you.
